Clearing an Interview with Self Confidence

When going for an interview, two words are always followed the best of luck. These two words are, “have confidence”. Most common reason of an unsuccessful interview is lack of confidence. So how does one prepare to be confident for a great interview? Read further to know more.

  • Take Pride in Qualifications
  • Have faith in your education and other qualifications. Do not underestimate yourself. There is a huge possibility that people having a higher education than you come for the same interview. Remember, the interviewer seeks more than just the qualification.

A fierce desire of getting the job can do miracles. Incase of lack of confidence, the desire will appear out of desperation. Remain calm.

This is not the time to repent or wash that you should have done more courses. You will need to make the best out of what you have. Make this clear to yourself.

It does not matter if you lack of experience. Take pride in whatever your education, qualification or experience is.

  • Sharpen Skills
  • A warrior that sharpens his sword each day fears no sudden attack. Likewise, sharpen your skills regularly. Whatever be your field communication skills and general knowledge are the most common skills that are necessarily required in every candidate.

  • Dress Well
  • The way a person dresses tells a lot about their personality. Any interviewer can reach to about 5 conclusions just by looking at your sense of dressing. Keep it simple and formal. By power of dressing you do not mean that you will need to buy branded cloths to leave a “wow” effect.

Right choice of cloths helps you feel confident because you are sure you are dressed appropriately.

  • Be Honest
  • You will need to be honest and only then you can appear completely confident. When you have applied for a job which you are sure to leave once you get another job then do not lie about your commitments.

Be brief and do not exaggerate about your future plans.

  • Positive Approach
  • Negative thinking is not going to be of any use. Make this clear to yourself. Repeat positive affirmations to yourself and be prepared for everything. Use affirmations like, “I can do it”, “the job is mine”, “I am going do great” or “It is no big deal”. Keep a wide and open mind me.

  • Simple Exercises
  • Write down questions that the interviewer may ask you. Write down the answers and keep them brief. Interviews can easily make out the difference between a prepared answer and an instant reply.

Write only the points of the answer and elaborate in your own words. This will keep you away from cramping answers. All you need to do is remember these points.

  • Being Ready
  • Being ready gives an immense amount of confidence. Do not assume that the interviewer will ask you only a certain question. Be prepared for all types of question. If you rehearse questions in your mind right before the interview is not a good idea.

Be ready for anything. This will make you appear spontaneous and confident; two keys elements that thoroughly impress any interviewer.
